When working out remember that one way to kick that metabolism into gear is interval training. You can do this 4-6 times during your hour workout by increasing speed or energy output in short intervals of time. Try starting small with 1-2 min. at a time then progressing to 3-4 minutes. Example: If you are walking a normal pace on the treadmill at 5% grade then increase the grade to 8-10% and double your pace. Or break out into a jog from walking every 8-10 min. and try jogging for 1-2 min. at a time. Check you heart rate and see how much you increased.
